Hundreds of thousands of buyers from all over the world will gather in Guangzhou to take part in the Canton Fair for the purchasing plan and looking for the new suppliers. The scale of Canton Fair is so big that there are more than 24 thousand companies and 48 trade missions taking part in it. But for millions of SMEs in China, how difficult it is for them to get a booth in Fair? What should we do if our companies fail to get a booth in the fair? Now let me share some tips for you to seize customers without a booth in the fair.
Contact the potential customers
In the age with highly developed network, we never worry about how to find the customer base. You should do so at the end of September and do remember that the more customers you can meet, the better it will be. Don't be afraid of not the tight time because there must be some customers couldn't show up due to the busy work. In addition, you must invite all the customers that you are following up with. But don't be too rush and do remember to ask customers for the phone numbers after your invitation.
Keep following up with considerate service
Before the Canton Fair, most of the exhibitors must be busy with the booth arrangement. If you can't be one of them, don't worry because it is a good timing for you to contact your potential customers. Hurry up to make a phone call to your customers and ask about their schedule. The exhibition is held on the 15th October and many customers will go to visit the factory in the industry centralized zone like Ningbo Zhejiang and the Pearl River Delta in Guangdong in advance in order to avoid the rush hour. So it is also a good timing to check whether you can invite some target customers to visit your factory. But do remember not to be too rush. If the customer tells you that he has no time for visit or that he has not yet reached China, don't be upset. You should ask him the date when he will arrive and whether he will visit the industrial area of your factory, and the most important thing is to ask whether he needs help from you. And then you should send a warm tips message to him and leave your hotline. I believe that no matter he comes or not, he will be deeply impressed by your consideration.
Guide the way for your customer properly
Through the above steps, I believe that you can contact some potential customers and if you work harder, then tens of customers will be of no problem to you. However, reaching the customers doesn't mean they must show up, which needs your considerate following up and personal guidance. If the customer is not sure whether he could come, then make an appointment with him in the hotel or pick him up in the hotel. If you are too busy to do so, you can apply for a car from your boss or ask friends for help. It is your time to show your charm. Only if you have the chance to meet your customer can you develop your next step. Of course, not every company has a car or enough staffs for help especially the SOHO. If you are sincere enough, the customer can feel it even though you pick him up by taxi. But don't by motorcycle. Because a customer once told me that a supplier picked him up by motorcycle which scared him a lot. I had picked up customers in the exhibition hall gate many times after I made an appointment with them. It was much better than taking part in the exhibition that time. However, not everyone can catch the customer in front of the exhibition so you'd better date your customer in his hotel.
Spend more time in talking about your advantages
For the visit of the customers, you should seize the opportunity to stress your product advantages because the customers have already seen many different kinds of products and if you are not special enough, you can hardly catch their eyeballs and what you have prepared before will be in vain. But the price advantage still can help you save your customers. Don't be upset. There are thousands of buyers from the fair and there must be someone that suits you. The one that can meet you must be your target customer.
Try as much as you can
If you cannot take part in the fair, advertising must cost much. The most inexpensive way is to hand out leaflets. It is better than doing nothing. I have tried to get one customer by handing out leaflets outside the exhibition hall. So in this period, you should think of some more methods that are seemingly useless, such as handing out leaflets, leaving some leaflets in the hotels or trying to meet your customers by chance etc. May be you can seize one by this. Conclusion: Do whatever you can. Get ready for the fair in advance. Pledge to make an appointment with your customers with your slogan.
