广交会门外也能收获硕果 Success outside the Fair
The Autumn Canton Fair held in October is somehow influenced by foreign countries' holidays, such as India's Diwali, which is the New Year Holiday for Indians, so most Indian buyers didn't attend the Canton Fair. And in general the exhibition attendance is lower than that of the Spring Canton Fair.
Thanks to our company's great location near the fair complex and with our efforts made before the national holiday, I succeeded in inviting many customers to visit us.
How to invite customers during the Canton Fair:
We tried to invite the customers to our office to check out our products before this Canton Fair, and this is the busy season for purchasing after all, so most customers will come to China. And I made out the plan before the start of the Canton Fair and I invited the customers according to the plan, and I confirmed the time of their arrival and their contact information. As for how to invite customers, you may refer to the article "Five Steps to Invite Customers" we released earlier. I didn't participate in this Canton Fair and still I have achieved a lot.
How to handle different customers who come to visit at the same time?
The last day of Canton Fair is the peak of customers' visit, and every foreign trader who doesn't take part in the Canton Fair should seize this opportunity! On the very day， four different customers came to visit our office at the same time, which was very delightful. But there was a problem to be solved: what should we do when receiving different customers' coming to visit at the same time.
1.For the customers we make appointment for the same time, we should first receive the one we make the earliest appointment with, and meet them in our office.
2.For those customers waiting for us, we should try to placate them and receive them after we make a proper arrangement for the customers already in the office.
3.When receiving many different customers at a same time, we can ask available colleagues ahead of time for help and demonstrate team spirit.
4.As for customers in the same office at the same time, we should serve hot tea or coffee to the customers when they arrive, because after a day's visit in the Fair they must be very thirty and tired. So on that day we boiled water with our own product and made coffee for our customers. And in order to ensure that the temperature of the coffee was good for the customers to drink, we made the coffee (instant coffee) with one third cup of hot water and then added warm water, so the coffee would not be too hot and the customers could drink it as soon as they got it. And in that way the customers could have a good rest and feel our care when waiting for us, while we were talking to other customers.
Anyways, as salespeople we should always put the customers at the first place, and try to make the customers feel our care and respect under any circumstance, so that the customers will trust us when cooperating with us. Besides, seeing many customers in our office will increase their confidence in our products.
