【广交会连采访】参展商眼中的广交会 Interviews in Canton Fair
The first phase Canton Fair is coming to an end and I have sent out the big gift, a USB wristband with thousands of buyers information, to our lucky fans in these five days. Meanwhile, I have also collected some important useful information for you. Now, let’s see!
1.How to prepare for Canton Fair?
About this problem, most of the interviewees said that they will invite the customers first.Ms.Bella, the salesman of an auto parts company said,generally she would send email to invite customers half month in advance. In addition to invite customers, what other else preparation work should we do? Ms.Leung, from Zhongshan, the salesman from a small home appliance company said she would get to know the products first and then arrange samples and catalogs and then invite customers. Mr. Liao, a salesman from an auto parts company said, this was the eighth time that he took part in Canton Fair, and he would get to know how to quote in advance and practice some useful English sentences. He said he would continue to learn better communication skills.
2.How is the customer flow volume of this Canton Fair?
Because of the slump of Europe and America economy market, there was specialist forecast before the fair that the buyers amount of this Canton Fair will decrease and the trade volume will fluctuate. Then will this prediction become true? Let me ask the exhibitors!
Most exhibitors said compared with last year, the customer flow volume of this year decreased and so did the orders. Of course, there is exception. Ms. Guan in home appliance business said,though the customer flow volume of this fair decreased, the trade volume maintained. However, many exhibitors said new customers were relatively less and old customers remained the mainstream.
3.Customers in which countries are more?
When talking about customers in which countries came the most, in general, customers in Middles East would rank the top, but this depended on industry.
Ms.Leung from home appliance industry said, customers mainly came from Europe and Middle East while Mr.Zhao in logistic said customers mainly from Egypt, Middle East and North Africa. Mr.Liao, the salesman of auto parts customers mainly came from Europe, Middle East and Australia while customers from Australia came the most. Mr.Zhou in construction business said Indian market was relatively good maybe because of the improvement of infrastructure. In the meanwhile, he also said that Indian customers were good at bargaining too much.
4.Except for Canton Fair, will you take part in other fairs?
About this problem, Manager Lao of a big sanitary brand said, except for Canton Fair, they would also take part in other top exhibitions of that industry in Frankfurt, Shanghai and Dubaiect., to improve their brand influence; while Ms.Shelly, who was in charge of showing stand and promotion display counter said,except for Canton Fair, they would also take part in other relative fairs such as Hongkong Fair.
5.Will the change of big environment influence you?
Exchange rate: Manager Lao and Ms. Lee of tools company both said the lower exchange rate will down the trading volume and they will take some measures like developing new products to make products diversified, giving some discounts to old customers or adjust the quotation according to the exchange rate.
Anti-dumping: last year, I had reported the launch of the anti-dumping regulation of America against solar energy. Then, will solar energy products be affected? According to Mr.Yan of solar energy company, there will still be great impact on products but if there is quota, then no need to worry too much.
6.What’s your deepest feelings of taking part in Canton Fair?
When asking about this question,most people will said “tired” but “worthy” because of the harvest like new orders or new customers resources. Ms. Leung from Zhongshan small home appliance company have taken part in Canton Fair since October 2011. In fair, in addition to contacting customers, she said she could learn more about communication skills, products presentation, quotation skills and customer preference etc.
